How much do you spend on vet bills for reptiles?

For those who own reptiles like bearded dragons, leopard geckos, ball pythons, boa constrictors, etc., how much do you usually spend on vet bills? Just curious about your experiences and costs.

An appointment usually costs around $100-150. It’s only when something goes wrong that it gets really expensive.

What kind of exotic animal do you have?

I never had to bring any of my reptiles to the vet, but I did have a White’s tree frog for 4 years, and I ended up spending around 4000 euros on vet bills for it.

My ball python once had sepsis, and it cost me $1,000 for exams, shots, and follow-up treatments. Usually, reptiles don’t need much, but like any pet, if something serious happens, it can get costly.

It’s rare that I need to take them to the vet, but I probably spend around 5k a year. But remember, I have a lot of reptiles.
