What can I use a spare tank for?

I have two small tanks: one is a 3.5-gallon aquarium with a flat back and a curved front, making it taller than wide. The other is a 2.5-gallon tank that’s longer and not very tall. I realize that most fish and reptiles probably won’t work, but aside from that, I’m mainly against keeping spiders. Are there any other options I could explore for these tanks?

You could turn one of those tanks into a nano terrarium! Use some air plants, moss, and maybe a few small succulents. They look great and are low-maintenance.

That’s a great idea! If you’re not keen on fish, how about some small invertebrates? You could keep things like isopods or even a little colony of springtails. They’re fun to observe and don’t require much space

If you want something a bit more colorful, you could try freshwater shrimp in the 3.5-gallon tank. Cherry shrimp or ghost shrimp are lively and add a nice touch to a planted tank.

A betta fish could work well in the larger tank too! Just remember to have a good filtration system and keep an eye on water quality. They can be quite interactive and are beautiful to watch.

What about a small frog? Some species, like dwarf African frogs, can thrive in a tank that size. Just make sure to do some research on their care requirements!
