I know this might sound like a dumb question, but I’m asking anyway. I’ve heard about frogs and tarantulas having some kind of beneficial relationship in the wild, but I’m not sure if that can work in captivity. I have a leopard frog and I’m thinking about getting a rose hair tarantula soon. I already have a few terrariums in my room and don’t want to run out of space. The tank is big enough for both, but I’m worried that my frog might end up as dinner. Can anyone tell me if it’s possible to have them live together peacefully?
You’re trying to put a frog from Canada in with a tarantula from Mexico?
Cohabiting animals in captivity is usually a bad idea, and you can’t just recreate relationships like the one you’re talking about with any random frog and tarantula. Here’s why:
The symbiotic relationship you’re thinking of only works with certain species, like the dotted humming frog and giant hairy tarantula. These are very specific species.
Plus, in captivity, there are no natural predators or insects for the tarantula to protect itself from. So, that whole idea falls apart.
On top of that, these animals come from completely different environments with totally different needs. Mixing them together isn’t going to work.
Honestly, if you’d just Googled it, you’d know that this is a bad idea. Please do your research before bringing home any animals.
Don’t put animals together unless you’re 100% sure they’ll be okay. You should really talk to a specialist before trying anything like this.

I actually did search on Google but couldn’t find any clear answers. It’s like I can’t ask anything on this forum without getting totally roasted.

I actually used Google too to find answers and even looked at other forum posts to help out.
At least now you know it’s probably not a good idea.
