I have a pet fox who is 3 years old. She was rescued from a fur farm and has been with us ever since. She’s potty trained now, but when she was a kit, she had a few accidents that left stains and odors on the carpet. I’ve tried a lot of cleaning products, but the stains won’t fully go away.
I’m also looking for a way to set up a spot by the window where she can relax and enjoy the breeze without toppling anything over. Right now, we’re using an old crate, but it’s not ideal. Any tips or suggestions would be appreciated!

Maybe a cat tree could help for the window spot? It might give her a nice place to sit and enjoy the view.
I’ve thought about a cat tree, but I worry she might knock it over and hurt herself since she’s very energetic. I’ll look into ways to secure one so it’s safer. Thanks for the idea!
You could try adding a small table near the window so she can lay down and look outside. For the stains and smells, maybe give Odoban a shot—it’s worked well for me. Also, a good grooming session might help keep her coat nice and clean.

Do you think it’s okay to keep a fox in a house? They aren’t really like dogs or cats. Just curious about how you’re managing it.
Just to clarify, she’s not just a ‘pet’ like a dog. She was rescued from a terrible situation at a fur farm, and we’ve done extensive research to make sure we’re giving her the best life possible. She’s happy, healthy, and very loved.
As for her living arrangements, she has free roam of our home and gets more attention than most pets. I know several people who keep foxes under similar conditions. It’s not ideal for every animal, but for her, it works perfectly. Please don’t jump to conclusions about her well-being without understanding the situation fully.

She’s trained, and her current behavior isn’t an issue. The stains and odors are from when she was younger and adjusting to her new environment. We’re just looking for cleaning tips because replacing the carpet isn’t an option right now. If you have any helpful advice, feel free to share.

I just think it’s important to speak up when something feels off.
As the person who posted this, let me make it clear—Tod is not being mistreated. She was rescued from a fur farm where she would’ve been killed. She’s now living in a safe, loving home and is better cared for than most pets.
The stains are from when she was a scared kit adjusting to her new surroundings, not because she’s mistreated. We’re just trying to improve her quality of life even more by fixing the carpet and giving her a better spot to enjoy the window.
Unless you have actual advice related to the questions I asked, please don’t make baseless accusations. You’re not helping, and your comments are derailing the discussion. Tod is happy, healthy, and loved—that’s what matters.
