What exotic pets work in a small tank like this?

Hi everyone, I recently got a 10-gallon tank, and I’m wondering what kind of pets could live happily in it. I’m open to pretty much anything except spiders, centipedes, and fish. I’ve looked into stuff like giant millipedes and snails, but I keep finding mixed info about whether the tank size is okay for them. Any advice or ideas? Thanks in advance!

You could try isopods! They’re easy to care for and fun to watch.

How about hermit crabs? You could keep one or two in a tank that size, and they’re super interesting to watch.

What about some kind of beetle? Like blue death feigning beetles or Madagascar hissing cockroaches. They’re unique and low-maintenance.

I really recommend blue death feigning beetles! I’ve got three, and they’re so easy to care for and cute. Isopods would also work great. A 10-gallon tank is more than enough space for either of those.

You could try 2–3 smaller dart frogs, like Ranitomeya or Oophaga. They can be a bit tricky to care for compared to the bigger dart frog species, but if you set up a bioactive, planted tank, they’ll thrive. Just a heads-up—captive-bred ones aren’t poisonous, but you’ll need to feed them live fruit flies.
